Description

BrainSTEM Learning® wants your kids to have fun and enjoy their summer like never before, using science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in a creative and fun way. Our Summer Camps are geared towards 4-6 year-olds and 7-14 year-olds. They are run over the course of Eight weeks half day or full day sessions daily, either in the morning or afternoon or add lunch to both for full day camps.

All required materials are provided by BrainSTEM Learning Canada.

Location:

All camps located at our main learning centre location: 730 Marine Dr., North Vancouver.

Pricing:

1 Week: Half day $300*  / week (bring a snack for snack break)
*4-day holiday weeks half day are $240  / week

1 Week: Full day $660*  / week (bring enough food for two snack breaks and lunch)

(1 week: add lunch to morning and afternoon camps for full day $60)

*4-day holiday weeks full day are $528 / week (add lunch to morning and afternoon camps $48)

GST exempt (next year tax receipt available to print online for the next tax year)

Airplane-for-Summer-Camp-2018

  • BrainSTEM- Ages 4 to 6 – Half-Day Morning Camp (9:30 am to 12:00pm)
  • BrainSTEM- Ages 4 to 6 – Half-Day Afternoon Camp (1:00 pm to 3:30 pm),
  • BrainSTEM -Ages 4-6 – Full day camp 9:30am-3:30pm
  • BrainSTEM- Ages 7 to 14 – Half-Day Morning Camp (9:00am to 12:00 pm)
  • BrainSTEM – Ages 7 to 14 – Half-Day (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
  • BrainSTEM – Ages 7-14 – Full day camp- (9am-4pm)

Breaks:

During our camps, there is a snack break in the morning or afternoon session. If you are doing a full day camp then there is an hour lunch break.

Please provide enough food and beverage for the snack breaks and or lunch breaks depending on which sessions your child is enrolled in.

As well, Weather permitting and for the full day camps, we will be going to the park or on a nature walk, so please provide sun protection and appropriate footwear for the walk.

Parking:

There are two commercial customer parking spots available in our customer parking lot located under the Remix building entrance off 14th st.

Also there are two commercial loading zone 15 min. parking spaces on the lane way in front of our location at 730 Marine dr. the entrance is off Bewicke. As you may not turn left off  Marine Dr. on to Bewicke, we suggest turning up Fell Ave, turning right Larson, and then turning right again onto Bewicke Ave., then right again onto the lane way.

Then there is public parking available on 14th ST.

Drop off / Pick up time:

Within 15 Minutes before the scheduled class start time. If you have an older child and a younger child to register, you may drop both children off for a 9am Specialists start and the younger student may do some open play with STEM toys from 9-9:30am when their class begins. Similarly, with pick up time from 3:30-4pm. Call for any before or after care 604-379-2767.

Specialists/Managers (7-14 years) – Weekly Themes:

July 2-5 (4 day week) 9am-12pm Session: STEM Olympic Challenge

They will build a mini crossbow, programming their own robot for special competitions(robo wrestling & robo tug-o-war), build their own Nano bugs, and compete in super train races.

July 2-5 (4 day week) 1-4pm Session: Mindstorms EV3 Robots

This exciting week of Robotics, the students will build their own EV3 Robot, play Gotcha with the EV3, their EV3s will have an In-line skating race, Robot-communications, and their EV3 will make its way through an obstacle course.

July 8-12 9am-12pm Session: Crazy Science Challenge

Launch water rockets, discover pneumatic principles by building a truck with a mechanical hook, create their Hydrogen fuel cell that generates electricity using solar energy, walking art robot and, they will learn about production line manufacturing making their own ice cream.

July 8-12 1-4pm Session: Challenging Construction

Your children will learn about Simple Machines, build their own Solar Bike, Learn about construction, build a bridge, tower maze, and design their own Zip-line sail

July 15-19 9am-12pm Session: Aquatic Amusement

They will discover what buoyancy means with a scuba diver, building their own boat with air/gravity propulsion, their own submarine, mouse trap/gravity paddle wheel boat, and waterslide.

July 15-19 1-4pm Session: True Stem Heroes

They face the challenge of save marine life of an oil spill, they will make their own solid water that could be as hard as a shield (non-Newtonian fluids), they will generate electric energy from kinetic wind energy, recycling race,  and they will make their own car powered with solar energy.

July 22-26 9am-12pm Session: Challenging Physics

The students will build their own roller coaster; a cabin that can resist harm crashes and extreme falls from certain distances; build their own catapult and crazy slime, finally build their own dragster.

July 22-26 1-4pm Session: Mindstorms EV3 Robots

This exciting week of Robotics, the students will build their own EV3 Robot, play Gotcha with the EV3, their EV3s will have an In-line skating race, Robot-communications, and their EV3 will make its way through an obstacle course.

July 29-August 2 9am-12pm Session: True Stem Heroes

They face the challenge of save marine life of an oil spill, they will make their own solid water that could be as hard as a shield (non-Newtonian Fluids), they will generate electric energy from kinetic wind energy and they will make their own car powered with solar energy.

July 29-August 2 1-4pm Session: Aquatic Amusement

They will discover what buoyancy means with a scuba diver, building their own boat with air propulsion, their own submarine, and waterslide.

August 6-9 *(4 day week) 9am-12pm Session: Challenging Construction

Kids are going to plan their own holiday activities, build an airplane, an skyscraper, make parachutes, build their own sail boat and air hot balloon.
